Mental Health – Recovery Oriented Practice

Overview

The accredited Mental Health – Recovery Oriented Practice short course is a series of four workshops focusing on recovery oriented practice in mental health work and is designed to provide you with specific skills which will develop and strengthen your understanding both personally and professionally.

The full Certificate IV in Mental Health has been identified as a key benchmark qualification for beginning and novice workers in the community mental health sector. While the training and the full Certificate IV in Mental Health qualification is about supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing, the concept of recovery-oriented practice fits into a broader human services approach.

Recovery oriented practice training is a participatory learning course that incorporates the concepts, principles and philosophical framework of recovery-oriented community mental health practice. By undertaking this training, you will be provided with a foundation to recovery oriented practice through experiential activities, reflections and completion of workbooks and assessment items.

Key features

Units

The Mental Health – Recovery Oriented Practice short course is made up of five units of competency delivered through face-to-face workshops, utilising educational resources developed by the sector to authentically address issues of individual and community mental health from an integrated recovery focus.
