Spectrum Training does not currently offer any User Choice programs*
The User Choice program provides public funding for the delivery of accredited, entry level training to apprentices and trainees.
The program works in conjunction with the Commonwealth Australian Apprenticeships System, under which apprentices and trainees (also known in some jurisdictions as “Australian Apprentices”) enter into legally binding training contracts with their employers and receive structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
The Queensland User Choice program enables apprentices, trainees and their employers to select a preferred Registered Training Organisation (RTO) from a list of Pre qualified Suppliers for the delivery of accredited training to meet their specific needs.

User Choice Program FAQ’s
Spectrum Training are a pre-qualified supplier under the User Choice program. We can currently access User Choice funding for the following qualifications:
Certificate II in Business
Certificate III in Disability
The course fees for a priority 1 qualification are 100% funded, a priority 2 qualification are 75% funded, and a priority 3 qualification are 50% funded. Course fees for each qualification funded under the User Choice program are provided in the blue fee box on the relevant course page.
In addition to the course fees, apprentices and trainees are required to pay a student contribution fee with the level being set within the User Choice contract. These fees are currently $1.60 per nominal hour with fees for concession students at $0.64 per nominal hour. Nominal hours are pre-defined study loads for each Unit of Competency within a qualification or accredited course. Depending upon the elective Units of Competency in your study program your student fees may be higher or lower than your peers.
For students that are experiencing severe financial hardship, or are likely to experience severe financial hardship given the burden the student contribution fees will cause, a student contribution fee waiver is available.
To be eligible to receive a Government Contribution the Apprentice or Trainee must have entered into a Training Contract for a qualification which is funded by the Department, be registered on DELTA with a commencement date or recommencement date on or after 1 July 2010, and select a training provider who holds Pre-qualified Supplier status for their nominated qualification.
Detailed eligibility requirements for the User Choice program are available in section 2.2: Eligibility Requirements of the Queensland Government’s User Choice 2010 – 2015 Policy available here.
